The Union County Board of Education is currently accepting applications to fill a vacant seat for District 3. This position will be temporarily filled until the regular election in November 2026.
The responsibilities of a board member include setting district policies, hiring and evaluating the Superintendent, levying taxes, and adopting the district budget. Applicants must meet several criteria: they should be at least 24 years old, have been a Kentucky citizen for at least three years, be a registered voter in the specific district with a vacancy, have completed high school or obtained a GED certificate, meet all legal qualifications as per KRS 160.180, and complete required annual in-service training.
Applications can be picked up at the Union County Schools Administrative Office located at 4500 US HWY 60 West, Morganfield, KY, or accessed online. The deadline for submission is July 16, 2025.
