Two educators from Union County Public Schools have been selected to join the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Leadership Fellows Program. The program, organized by the Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education (KACTE) with support from the Kentucky Department of Education's Office of Career and Technical Education, includes Margie McGraw from Union County High School and Nichole Thomas from Union County Learning Academy.
The KACTE Leadership Fellows Program is designed for CTE educators in Kentucky who are members of KACTE. It focuses on leadership development, policy understanding, and professional growth. The program aims to familiarize educators with policymaking processes at local and state levels while training leaders to advance KACTE's mission in workforce development.
Margie McGraw teaches computer programming at Union County High School. Her responsibilities include serving as an FBLA advisor, work-based learning coordinator, and program manager for the Perkins Grant and TEDS.
Nichole Thomas recently transitioned to a school counselor role at Union County Learning Academy after 12 years at Union County High School. She has worked on enhancing CTE through partnerships with several educational initiatives and institutions.
