Students from grades 6 to 8 represented Italy and Australia at a recent Model United Nations conference held over three days in Louisville. The team received the Conference Life Award, which acknowledges their efforts in creating a positive atmosphere during the event.
Emily Robinson was elected as the President of the United Nations General Assembly for the upcoming year. Carmen DeAtley-Rosales will assume the role of Security Council President, succeeding freshman Ksenia Miller, who held the position this year. Madelyn Dekker and Emily Robinson both received Outstanding Speaker Awards, while Carmen DeAtley-Rosales earned an Outstanding Ambassador award. Becca Ramdass was chosen as Vice President Committee Chair. Additionally, Darcy Jones and Rylan Kraemer had their resolution on abolishing the death penalty endorsed by the Secretary-General.
In another section of the conference focused on high school students, Georgia Colvin was recognized as an Outstanding Ambassador. Ryan McLagan was selected to participate in the Showcase Round of the International Court of Justice. The team's Croatian display also received an Outstanding World Expo award.
